Thursday Night

A test was sent out to check a potential problem source of the diarrhea which has continued somewhat during the day. The incision has continued to drip and the nurses showed me how to clean and dress it when he is discharged. This could be tomorrow if the test comes back negative, but if positive then he would stay for anti biotic treatment, as i understand it. We will know more about this in the morning when the test results should be back.

We have the new room and it feels like we are on top of things enough to make it through the
Weekend plus on our own, sort of. Special thanks to corrine and ellie who have seattle credentials and have extended their help to us. And much appreciation to all of you who have written back to us with information and encouragement.

Ed continues weaker than i expected, but perhaps not more than i should have expected. This is a very big surgery, and even if we knew that going in, the dimensions of that bigness were really not clear to us, i think. Nor perhaps could they be ahead of time, ever.
