Ed's surgeon was by, offering encouragement generally and the usual warnings of possible problems to be alert to next. It is often hard and perhaps impossible to know when these are just informative and when they are early warnings. Impossible because they are both. Anyway, he was concerned about a little fever last night. Much higher and antibiotics would be ordered to clamp down on infection, which could have many sources, but what they are particularly concerned about is liver infection in one particular area. In any case, his temp is now normal, and the next vitals and blood tests will be at four.

Another chest xray a few minutes ago, but no info on that yet. His nurse zooey says no transfer to the floor likely today. He was up and sitting in a chair for a few hours, and standing and walking in place for a little bit. A physical therapist is supposed to be making an appearance. Ed continues to look good and be tired.
