hospital post 3

ed has a pca morphine pump to deal with pain and he is feeling not much pain.  he's pretty enthusiastic about the 'leg socks' that go from the ankles to the calf and continuously are filled and unfilled with air (to prevent blood clots in the legs).  what he likes is the squeeze and release feeling on his legs.  he's still putting away ice chips but he has also had a tall cup of vegetable broth.  still getting low levels of oxygen.  head of the bed up quite a ways. he got the computer connected to the hospital wireless network for me (sigh..;.such a computer enabling incompetent), checked his 'where in vancouver flickr' and his email, and turned the machine back over to me, tired enough from that effort.

the more local color news from the hospital is that there are jars of hand sanitizer everywhere, everywhere, everywhere and everybody seems to be using it constantly.  avagard is the brand and too bad we all didn't buy stock in that instead of citibank, say.

i'm holding up, but pretty tired from not much sleep last night and the 5:30 check in visit.  after ed checked in, i did go back to the room and got about 90 more m inutes of sleep before coming back to the hospital.  tonight, i would hope that i could pick up some extra sleep.  now, it's 2:30 pm
