This morning, I didn't grasp immediately that (a) it was Saturday, and (b) that fact would affect the timing of the doors being unlocked at the hospitals, so I spent about fifteen minutes wandering around in the brisk early morning light (ca. 7 am) trying to find an opening. The door I usually use said to go to the Emergency Entrance, but this is a big hospital and it didn't tell me where I might find that entrance. Finally, I located an open door that went into the cafeteria, almost empty this early in the morning.
Up on the floor, the shift was changing, so I couldn't find Jennifer to see how things had gone in the night, but Ed reports some initial function early this morning that all the nurses respond to as a good beginning. Good pain control still with the Toridol. But feeling less 'vibrant', his words, overall. Early in the morning; each day its own mountain to climb, I suppose.
