Valentine's Day, Almost

A month without posting, largely because there was some confusion at the clinic two weeks ago and the blood sample for the CEA got lost.  So we had no new CEA numbers and everything else was pretty much as it has been.  So, this week at the confusion center, the CEA test got done and in that month interval, it had gone up a half point for the first time in many months (from 3.8 to 4.23).  The oncologist says pay no attention to it.  Ed feels it may mean something, but whatever it might mean, we're not going to know now.

Instead, Ed has decided to take a vacation from the chemo just to see what it feels like not to be on it for a bit.  So, he'll skip one session (which means being without it for most of four weeks) and see where we are in a month.  Also, Mia and Annika are coming in two weeks, so it will doubtless be nicer for him not to be suffering the moderate fatigue and all of having them come a couple of days after the chemo, which is the height of the tiredness.  In addition, Shelly (my son) and his family are coming this weekend, so we look forward to a couple of weeks of visitors to lighten the skies for us.

We are okay; weather continues wintery but we've had really no snow this year.  Grey, rain, clouds.  We work away on what lies before us.  Which is mostly photography for Ed, quilting for me, and raising money for the library for the both of us.
