Schedule Update

Friday, March 26, Ed goes down to Bellingham to have the chest port placed which, they say, is a 'minor surgical procedure.'  Which may mean nothing more than they do it on an outpatient basis.  Or it may mean what it says.  In any case, it is to provide access to a major vein (might be the vena cava, but I'm not reliable on this kind of anatomy) for the chemo infusions over the time that he gets them.

Then, on Tuesday, March 30, he goes down for the first chemo treatment.  He is hoping that will go well enough so that within the following week we will be able to go up to Roberts Creek for a week before the next chemo and get the house on the market.

Gianna, Shelly and Chiara's older daughter (now almost 20), has spent this past week with us.  It was something to see her up on the top of the 2-story roof of the Orchard House, cleaning the shingles.  This is a task that I'm used to Ed doing.  And a task I'm never likely to undertake because of my reluctance about heights.  Today, Gianna and I both worked to wash a lot of windows, inside and out, so that the windows will look as good as the new window trim that Ed and George are almost finished preparing.

Ed continues to feel well and to evidence that feeling by putting in a lot of work hours.  And, yes, we're both eating and sleeping well.  Thanks for asking.
