Not Exactly News, But Catching Up

Back in November, Ed and his doc decided to shift back to an earlier chemo as a kind of 'change-up' I guess.  Different side effects, although again, few of them materialized.  Now, almost 5 months later, they have decided it's time for another CT scan.  So that's set for next Monday.  The results of the scan might be enough to make some other decision: no more chemo, some different combination of earlier chemo, more of the same.  It's not clear to me how recommendations/decisions get made (that is, based on what?).  But the doc says that it's kind of whatever he/Ed feel like since Ed's far enough out from diagnosis that there aren't any data to base anything on.  Ed is still essentially asymptomatic, except for the chemo effects.  His CEA numbers have hovered mostly between low and high 3's, although the one two weeks ago was up to 5.1.

Thought I'd at least check in with you all.  And will let you know after Monday where we are.
