Monday's lab tests were all normal with the platelets back up; on Friday, when we actually went to Bellingham for the chemo, the platelets were low, back down to just above 100 (where they have to be for the chemo to be offered). No explanation for this change: they bounce around, says the oncologist.
The CEA numbers were up some (10.6). This appears to be a reduction in the 'rate of increase' which we would hope the chemo would be achieving. But, it is only one data point, says the doc. Two more weeks and we'll have two data points, I guess.
Chemo itself was routine. And now, that is done (the portable infusion pump runs for 2 additional days), and Shelly and his daughters are here for a short visit. And spring, did I mention spring? Seems to still be here and we are feeling the better for it.
